Roadborne

Open-world hauling & logistics simulation

Roadborne is an open-world game about hauling cargo — loading it, securing it, driving it across a living map, and unloading it at the other end. It's built so the world keeps working even when you're not the one behind the wheel.

Every contract in Roadborne is being worked by somebody, player or not. NPC drivers rent their own trucks, take on jobs, and carry them through start to finish, so the roads stay busy and the economy stays honest — prices move because things are actually being bought, sold and delivered, not because a script says so.

Driving itself is built to feel real: trailers swing on their hitch, cargo shifts if you take a corner wrong, and the whole rig behaves like it has actual weight — even with a few dozen other trucks on your same stretch of road.

And whatever happens to your truck sticks: fuel, wear, the load in your trailer, all of it is remembered, so restarting a server doesn't mean starting over. It's currently in active development — the systems described here are the foundation we're building the rest of the game on top of.

Under the hood

  • Autonomous economy

Every contract has an actual worker on it, player or not. Nobody's faking the traffic.

  • Physics that hold up

Trucks carry real weight and real momentum, even with plenty of other rigs sharing the road.

  • Nothing resets

Fuel, wear, cargo, position — all of it survives a restart. Progress doesn't reset just because the server did.
